The administration of the island of
Kimolos is conducted by a "Community", in Greek Kinotita, as delegated
by the Municipality of Milos, of which the island is part. The Community
has a president and councilors. Their office is located in the Chora,
not far away from the Cathedral. After the municipal/prefectural
elections held in October 2006, the new president of the island for the
period 2007-2010 is Theodoros-Gerasimos Manganiotis
They are nowadays involved in improving
many a thing: a new landing point in Bonatsa, closer to Milos, in
improving the road, water and electricity networks, in developing
tourism and hence the overall image of their island.
